"I feel like I have since unlocked a whole new relationship with Allah as a result." — Salma Ibrahim "The ATTQ course has exceeded my expectations and allowed me to access more of the Quran than I could have predicted." — Muhammad Hussain "Being able to read the Quran now, break down grammatical components and begin to understand the meaning of Allah's words is truly amazing." — Abida Uddin "I've learnt so much in such a short amount of time and it's amazing to be able to read the Quran and have a better understanding of what is being said." — Faisala Naseeb "I truly would recommend this course. I highly doubt that anyone could join a more inspiring Arabic learning environment that is well-organised and interactive than this one." — Khadija Binbrek "By week 2/3, it hit me that I have missed out a lot by just reading translations, which physically can't capture the detail and purpose of every word/harakat." — Manzoor Alam

The problem we all share

We learn how to recite the Qur'an.Almost none of us learn what we're reciting.

And it isn't for lack of trying. Most of us have started a course or downloaded an app but never saw real progress.

Everything you've tried, separately

The pieces all exist.Nothing joins them up.

Textbooks, Video tutorials, Study notes, Verse analysis, Dictionary, Tafsir, Muṣḥaf, Word-by-word Qur’an, Flashcards, Vocabulary lists, Spaced repetition, Grammar exercises, Reading practice, Comprehension quizzes, Listening practice, Speaking practice, AI tutor, Student community, Bookmarks, Progress tracking.

Arabic Through the Quran isn't a bundle of these. It's all of them, working as one.

How you'll actually learn

No one memorised their first language

You heard, read and used the same words and phrases, over and over, until they were yours. That happened by accident. This programme does it by design.

of the Qur'an, understood

Lesson 1Lesson 40
Completing my first exam in this programme really made me realise how far I have come in a short amount of time. SubhanAllah at the start of the programme I was just getting to grips with feminine and masculine, and some months later I was analysing verses in the Quran with relative ease.

Inside one lesson

What a lesson actually looks like

Five sections, one per skill, worked through in order. Watch, read, practise, check. Around fourteen activities in all.

Around four hours a lesson, at whatever pace suits you. The same five sections every time, new material in every one of them.

Forty lessons like this one are ready and waiting.

The whole muṣḥaf, open beside your lesson

The Quran is your progress map, see how much of it you can understand lesson by lesson. Tap any word for its deeper meaning, translation and tafsir.

Every word you have banked is lit up in the page, coloured by how well you know it. You never check a progress bar to see how far you have come. You open the Quran and see it.

What forty lessons adds up to

40Tutorial videos, with transcripts
560+Ayat analysed word by word
40Story chapters, read with audio
40Listening episodes, subtitled and not
500+Quranic words mastered
170+Quizzes and knowledge checks
60+Conversations to practise aloud
570+Activities in all
The curriculum

Everything you'll master, skill by skill

You have seen the shape of a lesson. This is what fills it across the year: five skills, each with its own full syllabus. Open any one.

Five hundred of the Qur'an's highest-frequency words, drip-fed across the 40 lessons in the order you are most likely to meet them. You never sit and memorise a list.

  • Chosen by frequency

Ranked by how often each word actually appears, so the first words you learn are the ones you meet most.

  • Met in context, not on a list

Each set arrives with the lesson that uses it, then turns up again in the story, the episode and the conversation.

  • Ten minutes a day

Every word joins your Word Bank with its next review already set, so keeping the whole set alive is a short daily habit.

  • The outcome

Those five hundred words account for around 80% of every word in the Qur'an.

The whole year is mapped. Start it today.

I designed this programme for the person I was ten years ago — someone who could recite the Qur’an beautifully, but couldn’t understand a word of it.

Questions

Before you start

You need to be able to read Qur'anic script, that's it. No grammar background and no tajweed requirement. Lesson 1 begins from the very first building block, and everything is built one structure at a time.

Around four hours per lesson, in short pieces across the five skills, plus a ten-minute daily review. Self-paced, so spread it however suits you.

No cramming, ever. Words are fed to you as you study, learnt in context, and our spaced-repetition system reviews each one at the optimal interval so you never forget it. Memorising is handled for you — your job is simply to show up for a short daily review.

Fully self-paced — start anytime and learn at your own rhythm. And you're never learning alone: we run free events for our student community throughout the year, in person in London or online.

You learn the high-frequency words that make up around 80% of the Qur'an, plus the structures to read them in context. You'll recognise and follow most of what you read, with the dictionary and Mushaf built in for the rest.

Yes. You work through the complete Bayna Yadayk Book 1, role-playing every conversation aloud with an AI speaking partner that replies in character and gently corrects you — practise as often as you like. By the end you'll hold simple day-to-day conversations.

No written coursework. Every hour goes to the skills that open the Qur'an — reading, listening, and speaking — with progress checked through interactive exercises instead.

Near the end of the programme, a placement assessment guides you on your readiness for Year 2, so your journey into the Qur'an continues on the right footing rather than stopping at the finish line.

Make this the year you understand it

Forty lessons. Five skills. One Book, finally opening.
